The intermediate angle framing to this angle should be welded in place. Item No. 2 A. Additional bolting needs to be added to the main landing knee braces. An additional 3/4-inch (3/4") Hilti ("Hit System C-20") anchor shall be added near the top of each one of these knee braces at an appropriate space from the existing bolts. Item No. 3 A. A new knee brace should be added near midspan of all of the walkways between landings. A new knee brace should also be added to the main second floor landing. The intermediate angles which span to this edge angle which span to this angle which are bolted should be welded at each end due to the poor condition of the existing bolts. Item No. 4 A. The bolts of the tread support angles are in bad condition at various locations. To assure safe support, these angles should be welded to the stair stringers. Item No. 6 A. The tread hold-down anchors have rusted out in a number of locations and should be welded in place. Item No. 7 A. The existing railings of the stair sections should be reinforced with new one and thrcc-quarters inch (1-3/4") by three-eighths inch (3/8") vertical bars at eleven inches (11") center to center. Item No. 8 A. The ladder from the ground to the first floor landing shall be replaced with a new ladder that will be mounted to the wall of the building. Item No. 9 A. After all of the structural repairs have been completed, the fire escape should be scraped free of loose paint and rust, and should be repainted with one (1) coat of ferrous metal primer and two (2) coats of oil- based enamel (semi-gloss). 2 of 2
