Therefore, owners and/or operators (e.g. building owners, renovation and demolition contractors, plumbing and heating contractors, flooring contractors, etc.) need to determine al asbestos containing materials (ACMs), both friable and non-friable, that are present at the site, and whether or not those materials will be impacted by the proposed work, prior to conducting any renovation or demolition activity. Examples of commonly found ACMs include, but are not limited to, heating system insulation, floor tile and vinyl sheet flooring, mastics, wallboard, joint compound, decorative plasters, window glazing, asbestos containing siding and roofing materials and fireproofing materials. Failure to identify and remove all ACMs prior to its being impacted by renovation or demolition activities, can result in significant penalty exposure, and higher clean-up, decontamination, disposal and monitoring costs. A DOS certified asbestos consultant must be contracted to determine if asbestos is present and whether removal/repair is necessary. If the building is a state owned facility, contact DCAM and DOS. DOS provides a list of licensed asbestos abatement contractors and consultants. You may wish to inquire if a contractor has any history of violations. Only DoS licensed and DOS certified asbestos abatement contractors and consultants may be hired to perform asbestos related work in Massachusetts. They will seal tops of bags with duct tape and put waste generator labels on them then take them out of containment through the decon during waste load out. There is a lot of negative air pressure inside containment and the poly is bending away from wall David Heelon 02-27-23 01:00 PM near the negative air machine. Workers are trying to reinforce the poly on walls in main hallway so that it doesn't get pulled off of the walls. jTiC. mobile data solutions LOG NOTES SECTION Workers finished bagging all the removed tile. He will remove approximately 4 SF ACM black David Heelon 02-27-23 02:00 PM tar by the roof drain pipe. Others 2 workers remain inside containment and start removal of the fiberboard wood paneling from walls. There is ACM adhesive behind the paneling. Adhesive is stuck on back side of fiberboard paneling and also stuck on some of the cinderblock wall behind the paneling. Workers will remove acm adhesive from cinderblock walls as well. Locations are by entrance to decon and in garage. On Monday, Supervisor Jordan applied "Peel Away" to bottoms of yellow vertical concrete posts located at interior and exterior of the 2 garage doors. The yellow paint contains small amount of lead. The posts will get removed by cutting them at their base near floor, however they need to remove a section of the yellow David Heelon 03-01-23 07:56 AM paint at location on pole where they will make the cut...that is why they applied Peel Away so that the paint will get removed at that bottom section of posts so they can cut there without disturbing any lead paint. DH receives phone call from Jordan that the other jobsite they are at will take longer than originally David Heelon 03-02-23 11:20 AM planned therefore they will not be coming to this site today. They will return here tomorrow morning to resume activities. David Heelon 03-02-23 11:30 AM DH (TRC) leaves site. David Heelon (TRC) and MER on site. Supervisor is Jordan Mazer and 3 workers.
