Dear Alan,
Last week I did have the topographical profile of your
property on King Street checked against the site plan that you
filed with the Building Inspector.
I do not know who did the elevation check for you last week
or what bench marks they used , or if they know how to use a
level , but the original site plan that you filed with the
Building Inspector coincides almost exactly to the City' s
topographical system. What that means is that using a City
bench mark located at the St . Valentine ' s Church, across from
King Street, and comparing the elevations with the site plan
that was submitted by you, it appears that Huntley, when they
prepared the original topography for your site plan, used City
information. The original site plan chat was submitted to the
City coincides with the conditions of the land prior to the time
you constructed your building.
I am enclosing for your use and information a copy of your
site plan together with notations of, elevation checks on your
site showing current elevations in rOlation to the elevations
that existed prior to the time you constructed your building.
You wi11 note that in the area of 131 ' contour , your
existing elevations are approximately one foot higher than the
elevations prior to theftime you built your parking area.
Also, I had the threshold of 11-4 basement office entrance
checked for elevation. The elevation of my office entrance is
131 . 15. Therefore , as I indicated to you previously, it is
extremely important that the preexisting topographical features
of your site and my site remain constant so that flood storage
in the event of heavy rains can remain at an elevation of 131 .15
or lower.
