W:\Documents\FORMS\original\Building-Inspector\zoning-Permit-Application-passive.doc 8/4/2004 1 BOMBYX USE OF SPACE - June, 2022 Bombyx progra •l. • 's . . e intentionally the secondary use for the building. We schedule, on average, about two evens. each week. We do not have an office on site or keep regular hours there. All meeti •s ar- .y appointment. Use of space for rehearsals and group meetings averages between 6-8 hours each week. The Florence Congregational Church (FCC) holds their weekly worship service on Sunday mornings followed by a coffee hour. They also maintain weekly office hours Tuesday and Thursday. Their Sunday school has been meeting intermittently since the beginning of the year and they also hold a series of meetings each month (Cabinet, Trustees, Committees, etc.). They also plan to hold more-or-less quarterly suppers and an annual jumble sale. Beit Ahavah holds their worship services every other Friday and their Sunday school meets each week - with a break during the summer. Their office hours are Tuesday through Friday and they hold regular Board and Committee meetings as well as Torah Study, Meditation, and Queer Support group. Both congregations also use the building for important rites of passage: christenings, weddings, funerals, bar/bat mitzvahs, and the like as well as holiday celebrations in addition to regular services. Cloverdale Preschool welcomes children Monday - Friday during the school year and plans to launch their summer camp in June. That program will have similar hours, with select weeks off for staff vacations. While arts programming in the building is highly visible and can draw a crowd for a short period of time, most of the activity at 130 Pine Street is still religious and educational in nature. We intend to maintain the current proportion, more or less, during the period of our lease-to-own agreement. It is not our intention to transform this historic church into a nightclub with music every evening. The plan is to offer a diverse range of programming. For example, we are partnering with Self-Evident Education and the Northampton Arts Council on The Power of Truths, an equity conference for educators this weekend.
