These inspections are required at intervals from Table 106.5 of the building code. Your building(s) is/are due for inspection. These inspections are mandatory. The building code prohibits occupancy unless there is a valid certificate of inspection posted. Please complete the included application and return it to the building department as soon as possible. Once we receive your application and inspection fee, we will contact you to schedule the inspection. Indicate your preferred times and dates on the application. These inspections usually take less than an hour. Along with the inspection application, I have included a basic checklist of the types of items we inspect. Please return the enclosed application as soon as possible. It is very important that we hear from you. Again, these inspections must be done to allow continued occupancy in accordance with the Massachusetts State Building Code and the City of Northampton Zoning Ordinance. Feel free to call if you have any questions. Our telephone number is 587-1240. Thank you for your cooperation. Jon Flagg City of Northampton Building Commissioner jflagg©northamptonma.gov
