Terry,
As long as the space indicated on the revised drawing as "office" (formerly identified as "bedroom") is not used as
sleeping space, then current-code smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are not required throughout the house.
It is important to understand that, on a cost benefit basis, nothing provides more occupant protection than interconnected
smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
