Program Specific Details DCF contracted group home that supports and affirms 12-18-year-old transgender and
gender non-conforming youth across the gender and sexual orientation spectrums, otherwise referred to as LGBTQ+. These youths will be referred from the Department of Children and Families western region. The home will be licensed to house 10 youth and will provide treatment, intervention, reintegration and reunification services. The youth will attend Northampton High School, Smith Vocational High School or maintain their
current school placement. Middle school students would attend JFK Middle School. The
High Schools and Middle School both have a Gay Straight Alliance that provide a safe space for students who identify as LGBTQ or allies. The program will be staffed 24/7 by a multi -disciplinary team and will include a minimum of two overnight awake staff each night. All residents of the program will be fully capable of self-preservation.
