The original building has been augmented by the addition of an open porch along the south wall of the house. and also the reconfiguration of a portion of the roof so that the entire south gable lies on one plane. The roof appears true with no noticeable sags. The new work had been done in a professional manner. My analysis indicates the roof is capable of supporting the dead weight of the structure, the design roof snow load of 35 psf and an additional 5 psf of the solar panels. It is my opinion, based upon my training and experience as a professional engineer. as well as my site visit, the roof at 206 Spring Street with the additional weight of the solar panels meets the structural requirements of the Massachusetts State Building Code, Ninth Addition.
