Dear Mr. Watling,
I visited the property at 129 Riverbank Road on August 10, 2020 . I observed work on that
property being performed contrary to the provisions of the Massachusetts State Building Code, 780
CMR section R105.1; a building permit has not been issued for that property. In accordance with 780
CMR section R115, I have issued and posted a stop work order effective May 12, 2020. Work on this
property cannot resume until we issue a building permit. The permit fee will be doubled and there will
be an additional $50.00 fee to remove the stop work orders in accordance with the City of Northampton
ordinances Chapter 145.
I again observed the property on July 20, 2020. Work is continuing on the property. I have issued a
non-criminal citation.
You have the right to appeal this action under 780 CMR section R113.
