Re: Accessory Structure, 80 Hinckley Street,Northampton
Dear Mr. Patillo:
I am writing on behalf of abutters to property located at 80 Hinckley Street in Northampton.
A detached accessory structure is being constructed at the subject property. I understand from
your office that a building permit has been issued for a"storage shed"at that address. It appears that the
structure, as it is being constructed,may not be in compliance with the Northampton Zoning Ordinance
and possibly other ordinances. In particular,the building elevation may exceed the applicable maximum
height limitation. Further,given the size of the structure,there is concern that this large storage structure
is to be used for storage or warehousing for commercial or business purposes of the owner rather than
accessory residential use for the subject residence. Finally, I understand that a permit would be required
for vehicles to access this structure located at the rear of the property from the street and am inquiring
whether a permit has been obtained for this activity.
I would appreciate it if you would inquire into this matter and contact me with your findings.
