I have viewed the residence of Joseph Brin of 82 Riverside
Drive, Northampton, Ma.; Tax Map 23D; Lot 41, Zoned U.R.B.
This is a nonconforming two family structure ,per Section
4,3, page 4-1 of the Northampton Zoning Ordinances.
However, this structure must comply •rith the Massachusetts
General Laws, Chapter 2 and the Mass. Building Code, Section
609.0.
It is my opinion that a minimum 6'-6" by 30" door must be •
installed for a 2nd. egress to the second floor.
I have discussed this recommendation with Barry Elba:im end
Patrick Goggins. h"permit must be obtained for this alter'
ation.
