Dear Mr. and Ms. Coady:
In response to a complaint, a representative from our office visited the above referenced
property, and observed the following:
It appears that the "Carriage House" at the rear of your property has been renovated into a
dwelling space as advertised on Airbnb.com — "Renovated Carriage House Northampton Ma".
There have been no building permits applied for concerning this renovation. There have also
not been any permits issued from the Planning/Zoning Department for the alleged use.
You are hereby ordered to CEASE and DESIST the use of renting this space or using it for a
dwelling immediately, and I am formally requesting a visit of this property to ascertain its
current use and what renovations may have been done.
Please remedy:
Please contact me forthwith to schedule an appointment for said visit. Failure to do so will
force me to take further action, up to and including possible fines and/or court appearances.
