18D-040 (29) lF.D 1140 DECISION OF • ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS At a meeting held on December 12, 1984, the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Northampton voted unanimously to grant the special permit request of Robert Bolduc, 48 Robbins Road, Springfield, MA to remodel an existing self-service station to include a convenience store at 375 King Street, Northampton. Present and voting were: Chairman Robert Buscher, Charles Maguire and Kathleen Sheehan. , The findings were as follows: R. Buscher, referring to Section 9.3 (B) found that the convenience store is allowed by right with the movement of gas pumps on the space needing a permit. He found plans to expand and add a new use to the existing station and moving away from the intersection would improve visibility in the area and cut down on the use as a short-cut and would not be substantially more detrimental. K. Sheehan concurred, finding that some of the traffic problems would be eliminated and the amount of canopy would not change. C. Maguire foutld that the proposed expansion would increase traffic flow, but not to the extent that it would be unmanageable or create a situation substantially more detrimental than the existing use. He also found that the proposed relocation from the corner would be conducive to increased safety. The following condition shall apply: That any substantial alterations from the plan presented wou necessitate Mr. Bolduc to come back before the Board. 4 Robert C..lBuscher, Chairman c ..z LCP Kathleen Sheehan J K----: 3 _C,iarles Maguire 1W '4Jll'0NS)
