On April 22, 2002 I applied for a commercial building permit for 1812 Auto Body
Company on Spring Street in Florence, Mass. to put an office addition on the back
of their existing garage building. Then I was to cut through the existing wall that we
were attaching to and install a one hour fire rated door for entrance into the main
structure. The foundation was already poured by Hampshire Concrete with NO
permit inplace to do the job pryor to us getting called to supposedly do the work. I
went to meet with Tom & Peg Pease on the project because we already had a
contract and permit to do over their roof on their house at the same property. I
spent two hours with them and then at my office drawing up a print and filling out
the permit taking several more hours and then went to the Building Inspectors office
for approval. Linda at the office took the information to give to Tony when he came
back to the office so he could look it over and approve it or deny it. The next thing I
hear is Tony has personally delivered the permit (which I did not get a copy of) to
the Peases and told them this was not the way to get permits and do not have this
happen again. He also explained to them that they could not do the work because it
was a commercial building and someone with a license had to do it. I finished my
roof job on their house and in the mean time had my electricain move some
electrical wires to prepare for building the new office. The Peases then told me in the
beginning of May 2002 that the office project was on hold for a little while so they
could raise some more money to pay for the job, because the roof had been more
then they had expected it to be. They also wanted to wait to sign the office contract
til they had the down payment to start. At this time Tom Pease also said he would
like a new garage door installed in the back of the garage next to where the new
office was going and work up a price and I would be building it at the same time as
the office. I told him I would need to apply for another permit to do that job
independent of the office work. I worked up a price and they put that job on hold
also. As of todays date (9-06-02 ) they ( The Peases ) are still telling me the two
projects are on hold. They have told my expartner Edward Corbett Sr. and my
electrician-Dennis Sherman this also. I found out by driving by today and stopping
in the road and getting on top of my truck out in the road that they have already
done both jobs(office& garage door) without me doing anything and on my
license and permit. I also assume they never called for the

proper inspections to be done and I also do not know who did the work or if it was
done to code or spec. or even if the people had licenses to do the work.
They have also not paid me for my time to prepare the permit for this job or the
specs and contract either. They did finally pay me for my electricians work and the
permit price as of last week on 8-02.
At this time I am suppling a copy of the picture I took today ( 9-06-02 ) from the
street by standing on the back of my truck and am requesting that my permit to
build a new office addition to 1812 Auto Body on Spring Street in Florence, Mass.
be withdrawn as I do not want to be liable for any wrong doing on this property.
