10D-021 LETTER January 28, 2020 Jessica Houle 159 Main St Leeds, MA 01053 Ms. Houle, Hello, on November 4, 2019 we received a faxed copy of a permit to replace a gas dryer. This permit application was submitted by Best Yet Installations, they were supposed to follow up with a hard copy of the application along with a check for the$45 fee. At this time they also scheduled an inspection for the dryer by the City's Plumbing & Gas Inspector. The inspection was scheduled for November 5, 2019 at 11:30. When the Inspector arrived, there was no one there to meet him. There is a re-inspection fee for "no shows" of$50. Additionally we never received the actual permit with the original $45 fee. If you could contact the contractor and request that they pay their outstanding fees, we could sign off on the permit and close it out in "Approved" status. But regardless, the Inspector would still like to take a look at how the dryer was installed. Inspections are scheduled so that you can be sure that the dryer is installed to Massachusetts code and vented safely, and during this time the Inspector also confirms that you have properly working Carbon Monoxide detectors. The plumbing& Gas Inspector would like to inspect your dryer to make sure there are no potential issues with it. The permit would just remain "Open" in our files because the contactor hasn't paid the fees. Please contact our office at your convenience. Thank you. Best, Meghan Cahill Inspections 413-587-1271
