Dear Sir:
Following a failed inspection for a water heater that's temperature was set too low, it was discovered
that the water heater in your home is improperly exhausted (it is exhausted through a side wall rather
than being exhausted into a chimney.) On September 27, we had an email conversation where I
explained to you that the need to address the venting of your water heater was a safety issue and had
to be addressed immediately. I have not heard back from you, nor has Reidy Heating & Cooling,your
recent Plumbing contractor. I am writing to tell you that I will be contacting Columbia Gas and
informing them that you are in violation of Massachusetts Code 248 CMR and NFPA 54. They will make
a determination on what to do, which may include interrupting your service. If you have additional
questions, please contact the office.
