garage roofs to E upport proposed solar arrays.
I have reviewed the roo framing details on the house and garage roofs for the proposed PV solar
panel installation. 18 P11 solar panels are to be installed on the back south facing roof of the house
and 11 solar panels of t'a south facing roof of the garage. The 24'x 32', 2-story house with an
attached 20'x 24' garag was constructed in 2000. The house roof is framed with 2x4 Fink design
roof trusses installed at 4"on-center, spanning 24' with a roof pitch of 6/12. The garage roof is
framed with 2x4 Fink at
roof trusses installed at 24"on-center, spanning 20' with a roof pitch
of 6/12.The roofing is new standing seam metal roofing with the standing seams 16"on-center
screwed to the plywood sheathing. Snow guards will be installed along the eave of both the house
and garage roofs.
I have reviewed the mo' nting details for the proposed array.Based on my calculations and review
of the roof trusses and a PV solar panel unit weight of 42f lbs,with the attachment points of the
array placed at a maximum of 32" on center, clamped to every other standing seam and staggered
to minimize the load to any one roof truss,t e existing-roof frarnmg and metal roofingarea
