GENERAL NOTES
1. Contractor shall verify all dimensions and take own measurements at the job site before commencing work. Advise
architect of any error or discrepancy.
2. Contractor shall coordinate work of all trades, and installation of all equipment, items, or assemblies prior to
commencing work.
3. Contractor shall locate all existing utilities in areas of work. If utilities are to remain, provide adequate means of
support and protection during work.
4. Contractor shall consult and obtain permission from utility owners prior to commencement of work. Cooperate with
owner and utility company in keeping respective services and facilities in operation. Repair damaged utilities to
satisfaction of owner. Secure approval of connections to existing utilities from appropriate utility company and notify
local authorities prior to covering.
5. Under no circumstances shall any trench required for utility connections, etc. outside the property line be without
protective barricades nor be left open at the end of a day's work.
6. No open excavations shall be left open at the end of a day's work without adequate protective barricades to assure
public safety.
7. Install and maintain adequate bracing or shoring required to prevent filling-in or cave-ins of adjacent materials at all
times.
8. Remove all water and disturbed soil from excavations prior to commencing further work each day.
9. Contractors shall not damage the site beyond project limit lines. Any damage beyond project limit lines shall be
repaired immediately to owners' satisfaction.
10. Contractor shall maintain structural integrity of project during construction through bracing, guy wires, etc. See
structural for any additional notes.
11. Contractor shall perform work in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes.
12. Structural drawings to be completed under separate contract by MA licensed Structural Engineer.
13. Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm drawings to be completed under separate contract per
design-build contractors.
14. Cathodic protection by others.
15. Submittals to Architect for review and approval: Product data, shop drawings, manufacturer's color brochures of
standard colors, for all items to be constructed into project.
16. Spray foam insulation shall include integral fire barrier or be protected with intumescent paint or other fire
barrier approved by authority having jurisdiction.
