TCI using McCarthy overflow parking lot, Zuli's lot, and street parking. MF indicates that TCI dump truck will overnight in McCarthy lot. SH will get recycling bins recently placed in front of jersey barriers relocated to create another parking space. 11-Sep-12 8 CB points out there is barely enough room above third floor false ceiling and under attic ceiling joists for beams, both in terms of depth of beam and to accomdate out-of-level condition of existing building. Conclusion to keep as designed, slope beam to existing conditions. RH will determine allowable amount to be trimmed if/when necessary; confirms no saddle shop drawing submittal required. V 8.1 CB reports ceiling in kitchen is higher than in other rooms, conclusion to allow approx. 1"x 6" drop in ceiling. None 11-Sep-12 9 CB indicates staging installation is scheduled to occur on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. MF notes this may slide a day or two, depending on foundation inspection requirements. Ongoing this week. V 9.1 4 Sep 12 - TCI will request larger outriggers to provide more maneuvering room. MF to arrange V 9.2 Larger outriggers pushed scaffolding further onto the sidewalk impinging on street furninture, etc. Cribbing provided in trench instead 11-Sep-12 Page 1 11 MF explains once foundation trench is complete in an area, trench will be partially filled w/ membrane installed at an angle with excess collected above fill placed on top of membrane, to povide base for scaffolding. TCI to sumbit and PF to review membrane shop drawing immediately. V 11.1 New depth of trench and additon of cribbing postpones membrane installation Membrane location to be determined once depth of foundation repair known.All 12 MF notified SH that McCarthy Properties or HPMG need to submit request to Gas Company for relocation of gas meters within next few weeks. SH to contact HPMG. V 12.1 Not resolved yet TCI to contact Gas Co. V 12.2 Gas meters racks located about 10' down north wall and hang into abutters private property. SH also concerned for damage from haulers and snow plows, requests relocation. SH requests Northampton Coffee's switch- over occur last for least impact. TCI will follow up to confirm that it is OK to hang meters over private property, request relocation, and determine how much of this relocation expense the Gas Co. pays for, who provides bollards to protect meters, & what is plumber increase expense is for additional work. MF 15 EWS is removing baseboard heat at third floor apartment Wednesday. CB has reviewed with tenant. CB to confirm if this removes heating from entire apartment or just front rooms. V 15.1 Unclear where there is heat in apt. SH to survey what rooms are effected, provide plug-in heaters as needed SH 16 CB reports the dumpster will be placed in parking spaces in center of building day after scaffolding is complete. None V 16.1 Due to more extensive trenching, scaffolding delayed a week, dumpster will arrive end of Friday or first thing Monday If Friday delivery, CB to cover so it is not used by others over weekend.CB 18 SH announced that second floor apartment is rented as of 1 Sept. TCI to install temporary wall before move-in. V 18.1 SH indicates tenant will move in mid-Sept. SH will confirm actual dates V 18.2 SH reports tenant begins move-in on 18th, asks for a few days before to clean.TCI to vacate on 13th so MPI can prep apt. CB 19 LG asked PF to review draft submittal schedule to confirm items needed.PF to review, TCI will send V 19.1 PF did review draft, which was for confirmation of required submittals, no dates included. Ryan asked to be included in the distribution. TCI to submit.MF 20 PF reported that price quoted to Beaulieu for light fixture "A" is well over estimate provided by distributor in Boston. PF is attempting to contact distributor. PF suggested we may wish to consider an alternative approach, particularly if it coordinates with business tenants' requests for vertical signage above awnings. SH indicated McCarthys are not enthusiastic about banners. PF to follow up with distributor. V Page 2 20.1 PF contacted CT distributor instead of Boston distributor, who offered a substitute. PF also contacted a third distributor to get a second quote for originally chosen fixture, distributor submitted quote that fits budget, indicating an example was to be installed imminently in West Hartford we could visit. PF to follow up, visit site. V 20.2 Fixture installation in Hartford not soon enough, distributor provided LED lamped sample for review. Fixture approved PF to follow up with lamping recommendation.PF 21 SH requested that when soil is removed for foundation inspection, samples be taken for submittal to Umass extension service for analysis to determine if there is something in soil that is killing trees in sidewalk. SH will coordinate w/ Bill McCarthy to be available on Friday with three buckets to receive samples. 11-Sep-12 22 LG requests that distrubution include subs LG to provide list, PF to include in distribution 11-Sep-12 23 CB reports storefronts anticipated to be removed by end of day; tenant in third floor is OK with work beginning at 7am with notice; roof beam installation begins tomorrow; trenching along foundation begins tomorrow weather permitting. SH to confirm Emily is sole source of Northampton Coffee direction. SH 23.1 Makunda has returned early. SH confirms Emily remains contact person and sole source of decisions. None 11-Sep-12 24 Observation Holes: Brick appears in rough to poor condition to a depth of perhaps 9 courses down. RH requests deeper trench to confirm condition of top 24" of existing brick. MF indicates trench to 36" deep, will use excavation equipment to accomplish. 11-Sep-12 25 Observation Holes: top of foundation wall appears to have bowed in 4" +/- towards center, top of foundation wall will not be under new bond beam. RH indicates need for piers to be poured exterior of existing foundation to below frost; agreement that north and south ones will be smaller than intermediate ones. RH will email dimensions for footings by Thursday morning, record sketch to follow within a few days. TCI to excavate for piers, clean brick and pin, provide forms to be buried based on RH info. Pour piers Thursday, backfill on Friday. RH 25.1 Trench dug to depth of 4-6' down to ensure new piers bear on undisturbed soil, approx. 18- 24" deep flowable fill provided between pier formwork. RH determined pins from piers into brick are not needed, but up into grade beam are, 2 at ends and 3-4 at intermediates. Due to cantilever of grade beam east of foundation wall, #3 ties 12" O.C. are needed in beam. RH will provide sketch once depth of foundtion brick repair is known.RH 26 CB inquired of location of new basement footings. RH confirmed under corner of flat and sloped framing in first floor alcoves. RH and CB to review after meeting.V 26.1 CB would like to reconsider one location RH and CB to review after meeting. RH, CB Page 3 27 CB and RH reviewed threaded rod and epoxy requirements at saddles and existing brick foundation wall. RH confirmed use of Hilti HY20 with screen tubes. None.11-Sep-12 28 MF reports foundation membrane arrives Thursday. TCI to confirm with Northampton DPW exact sub-sidewalk specification requirements. 11-Sep-12 29 LG submitted draft pay req. PF to review. 11-Sep-12 NEW BUSINESS 30 CB reports scaflding going up now, completed Wed; upper level window removal is ongoing; new attic support beams are installed; new framing in attic to support roof rafters installed; floor blocking begun. None 11-Sep-12 31 Gas work to be done on Thursday, if meters are relocated, may delay work. Resolve where gas meters are to be finally relocated as soon as possible.MF 32 Brick removal to start Monday, 3-5 day duration None 11-Sep-12 33 SH inquired if storefronts could go in earlier, indicated willingness to pay to repair damage for installation before brickwork complete. MF will review how early storefronts could go in and report next week. MF 34 CB confirms there is no insulation in attic, SH requests quote to inslulate attic MF to arrange MF 35 LG inquired of job sign, group or individual? Conclusion to go with individual.None 11-Sep-12 36 SH requested existing storefront doors be salvaged and stored in basement.CB to arrange CB 37 PF requested 3-4 work lights strung in each storefront for temporary lighting, in part for pedestrian safety and also to increase appearance of tenants being open for business. SH concurs. MF to arrange MF 38 RH requested PDF copies of steel shop drawings on jobsite MF to arrange MF 39 SH requests PF propose composition of open for business banner for north end. PF to confirm with MF constraints of installing on north end of scaffolding, PF to submit proposal to SH MF, PF 40 SH and PF met to review signage, including Makunda's desire for display case attached to alcove wall. Agreement to provide electrical to location.
