Dear Mr. Lumley,
In response to your building application BP-2012-0088 dated 7-27-11 I have inspected the 1922 antique furnace and found it to be in disrepair.
The furnace in question is a unique piece and in my view is not certifiably safe. Several welds are cracked, the damper control is disconnected, and the exhaust is piped on a common
exhaust with the hot water heater.
The furnace exhaust piping must be removed and the hot water exhaust corrected. The furnace may remain is it present location.
