Mark,
Thanks for meeting with me this afternoon. As discussed, you will not need a trench permit for the surface sidewalk and driveway
work that will excavate less than 3 feet below grade. If you will be using a machine to plant the trees I would recommend that
you take out a trench permit, since that is the only way we will mark out water and sewer utilities. We are not a member of Dig
Safe. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions

You need to contact the Department of Public Works to make sure the work complies with their
requirements. Richard Parasiliti is the superintendant of streets and the tree warden and David Veleta is
the city engineer. They can provide the particulars about the current site plans and permit requirements.
