Requirement
Dear Sir:
Foundation drain tile installations are needed to transport water away from the basement wall in a high water table area and also in a non-permeable soil.
Per my April 6, 2015 inspection of the foundation, there is no evident of or possibility of high water table in the area. The soil in the area by visual inspection is mostly gravel sand
of relatively permeable soil in nature. Per Table R401 Properties of Soil Classified According to the Unified Soil Classification System, the soil falls in Group I. Hence no drainage
is needed per R406.1 of the code.
Wall perimeter will maintain minimum slope of ¼” per foot away from the foundation for proper drainage.
