Debin Bruce opened the discussion with the request for administrative amendment to the planting plan for 155 Pleasant St. Peter Frothingham described need for modification of the tree planting plan due to changes in National Grid’s underground vault requirements. The Board discussed the replanting plan. Mark Sullivan suggested that the 2” caliper replacement trees don’t appear to compensate for the loss of the trees. The Board discussed tree planting guidelines. Upon motion by Tess Poe and second by John Lutz, the Board voted unanimously to approve the change of plans with the condition that the two replacement trees be 4”caliper. Staff described the request for ANR on Maple Street. Upon motion by John Lutz and second by Tess Poe the board voted unanimously to have staff endorse the plan. The board discussed concerns about allowing residential uses in all the industrially zoned areas of town, particularly Industrial Drive. The Board discussed options to create more flexibility within the OI zone. Generally the consensus resulted in the Board deciding to move forward on rezone some of the GI portions of OI and to create greater flexibility for the reuse of older mill buildings within the OI district but keep two distinct districts. The Board then discussed map changes on Riverside drive and Federal and agreed to move those map changes forward to neighborhood discussion level. The Board discussed option to extend the CB district down Pleasant St, but suggested that the design guidelines be modified to address the different character of this corridor from the center of town. 8:00 Adjourn
