Thank you for the response and information regarding the permit fee due and the ZBA need, Louis. We will review the options on the pylon signs and will let you know what is decided. I went over the signage for the Big Y market in Northampton today.
First, the fee; based on 12 wall signs including 2 tower signs, one sidewall sign and 9 subdepartment signs at $60 each, and one ground sign at $100 the total fee is $820.
I've approved all but the 2 tower signs. The existing signage was approved by the Zoning Board of Appeals in 2005. The new Big Y logos on the towers are ~24 sf larger than the existing script. Those 2 signs will need approval by the Zoning
Board of Appeals unless they are made smaller (~11' diameter instead of 12). The other proposed signs are the same size as or smaller than existing.
You can contact Carolyn Misch for more information about the ZBA process. I've copied her on this email.
I'll send the paperwork once we get the fees and log in the permits.
