This project is re-siding, window replacement and framing repair in stairhall only. This is a Level 1 alteration.

Chapter 6 Alterations Level 1
General alterations shall be done in a manner that maintains level of fire protection provided.
No change in the fire protection provided: new siding over existing stucco and replacement windows; misc structural repair.
Repairs shall be done in a manner that maintains a level of protection provided for the means of egress.
Provisions shall be made so that this egress is maintained and protected during the entire course of construction
Accessibility shall be in accordance with 521 CMR
The existing accessibility is not being changed in the scope of this work (siding and windows).

Structural work of this project involves the replacement of rotten wood framing. These structural elements will be defined in structural drawings (copy attached)
607.1 Minimum Requirements
Level 1 alterations to an existing buildings are permitted without requiring the entire building or structure to comply with the energy requirements of the IECC. These alterations shall
conform to the energy requirements of the IECC as they relate to new construction only.
The exterior wall will include full depth high density cellulose and will provide an R-14. Because of the existing 2x4 framing of the walls the insulation is limited to this depth.
