Chief Duggan,
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with information regarding the planned business operation to
be conducted by Adventure Rooms LLC at 78 Main Street, Suite #1, Northampton, MA 01060.
1. Planned operations to be conducted at this premises are as follows:
Small groups of people (up to 8 people per group) will have access to math and physical science based
puzzles, toys, and custom furniture. These items will be arranged in a specific order in one or in several
connected rooms. The participants will attempt to complete tasks and solve puzzles by working together
under timed conditions. Adventure Rooms offers mental challenge event where participants use their
intellectual and social skills to work as a team to solve puzzles while learning something new about
themselves and their teammates (e.g., do you recall the numeric value of pi?).
Examples of puzzles which will be used include:
• measuring differences in density of objects
• using the sense of touch to decipher a number
• finding a clue hidden behind a picture frame
• forming numbers out of ropes cut to specific length
Prior to each event, participants will be greeted in the lobby and given verbal instructions on how to
proceed in order to complete the tasks and solve puzzles, as well as provided with safety instructions
(e.g., “exit doors are clearly marked with an EXIT sign”). All participants will be under live video and
audio surveillance at all times during the event by our trained employees. All event space entry/exit
doors will remain unlocked at all times. Participants will also be given a 15 minute walk through at the
end of each event to answer any questions.
None of the required tasks and puzzles rely on the use of any chemicals, combustibles, explosives, fire, or
compressed gasses. There will be no "horror" elements or physical restraints used by either the staff or
participants.
In the lobby, employees will handle online and telephone booking of appointments, provide customer
service, and offer payment processing.
2. Please see the provided floor plan.
