All work called for shall comply with requirements specified for similar work unless otherwise described. The following addendum modifies only those specific items described herein. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject the Bidder to disqualification. THE PROJECT IS BEING RE-BID, THEREFORE THERE IS A NEW GENERAL BID DUE DATE. General bids must be submitted in hard copy form to the Northampton Housing Authority, 49 Old South Street, Northampton, MA 01060 on or before 2:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Faxes or electronic submissions will not be accepted. Bidders are cautioned to base their price only on the written construction drawings, project manual, and addenda. Verbal responses made by the Architect or Owner are not binding, unless confirmed in writing by addendum item. Bidders shall submit all questions in writing, no telephone calls please. Remove existing exterior-mounted security screens and reinstall over new windows. Provide blocking as required to re-fasten. 6. Provide blocking as required to re-fasten. 1.7 Drawing A-114, Jessie’s House Window and Door Details, DELETE the Jessie’s House Window Schedule - Alternate No. 1, and REPLACE with the attached Sketch SKA-001, Jessie’s House Window Schedule - Alternate No. 1, dated July 12, 2013. ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS RAISED TO DATE 1. Do we need to be DCAM Certified to submit bids on this project? No. 2. Page 6 – 2.5 –D. [of Specification Section 08.53.13, Vinyl Windows] mentions mullions. Just to clarify the drawings A-114 letter G1 show the existing mull post remaining so the new windows do not need mullions? Correct. 3. Does the Housing Authority want nite latches on the windows? The last job we did with them they did not want them on the windows. See Specification Section 08.53.13, Vinyl Windows, Item 2.3, G. 4. which specifies the night latches. 4. Low E/Argon is mentioned. Do you want a certain U-factor or just energy star compliant? See Specification Section 08.53.13, Vinyl Windows, Item 2.2, C. which specifies the U-value. END OF ADDENDUM NO. 1 25-100 DHCD $25,000 -100,000 ADVERTISEMENT 00.11.25 09/1/2012 1 OF 1 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS The Northampton Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from General Contractors for the Renovations of Housing for the Northampton Housing Authority in Northampton, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Dietz & Company Architects, Inc. Note that this is a re-bid. The Project consists of: Miscellaneous renovations to Tobin Manor 667-3, Bridge Street 689-1, and Jessie’s House 689-2. Work includes window and door replacements, as well as other miscellaneous repair items. The work is estimated to cost $ 56,000. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 §§26 to 27H inclusive. General Bids will be received until 2:00 PM EDT, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 and publicly opened, forthwith. General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the Northampton Housing Authority. There is a plan deposit of $50.00 per set (maximum of 2 sets) payable to BidDocs Online, Inc.. Deposits shall be electronic (online) or via certified check payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. Checks are to be mailed to BidDocs ONLINE Inc., P.O. Box 51, Groton, MA 01450. This deposit will be refunded for up to two sets for GC’s and one set for sub-bidders upon return of the sets in good condition within 30 days of receipt of general bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the Awarding Authority. Additional sets may be purchased for $ 50.00 each.
