Dear Louis,
This is a verification of beam removal to meet code concerning the above project.
Project Description:
There are ornamental existing heavy timber wood posts in the rear of the space carrying
beams below the ceiling which the owner wants to remove.
There are two posts which obstruct viewing the performance stage which need removal. These
posts carry a dead load of only the beams above and no other material including sprinklers which are
independent of them.
I have inspected the project and certify it will not be a hazard after completion as long as the
remaining posts at the walls on both sides are secured to the masonry behind the wood finish.
