Pressure Treated framing shall be Southern Pine, Grade #1 per SPIB, meeting AWPA regulations and specifications. All framing lumber shall be protected from the weather until installed. 6. Pre-engineered I joists shall be by Trus Joist, sizes as noted on plans. 7. Reinforce I-joists and rim joists as noted on plans at areas of bearing walls and post loads from above. Use solid LVL blocking or vertical 2x8 "squash blocks". 8. Pre-engineered 4X4 and 4x6 posts shall be PSL 1.8 E. Weyerhauser or equivalent. 9. Structural Fasteners: Structural screws shall be by GRK. Provide RSS Series screws or an approved equivalent. Connections for ledgers shall use fasteners of nominal 3/8" diameter and lengths specified. Other connections shall use 5/16" diameter screws of lengths specified. All fasteners shall be coated and rated as approved for use with pressure treated lumber, corrosion resistance. 10. Steel connectors, plates, ties: All shall be rated as approved for use in contact with pressure treated lumber. Coatings shall be hot dipped galvanized or Simpson "Zmax" coating or approved equivalent. Follow manufacturers installation instructions for fastener size and quantity.
