This addendum consists of 7 pages and 1 attachment. General Contractors are
responsible for distributing this addendum to their sub-bidders and suppliers.
Indicate receipt of this addendum in the appropriate place on the bid form. The
bid documents dated August 1, 2016 are amended as follows:
SPECIFICATIONS:
ADD3.1: SECTION 01230 ALTERNATES: Add the following paragraphs:
3.4 SCHEDULE OF ALLOWANCES
A. Carpeting: Carry an allowance of $56.00 per square yard for
material only. Include installation costs including adhesives and
accessories as part of base bid.
B. Plaster repair: Carry allowances for plaster repair beyond
required cutting and patching for miscellaneous plaster repairs at
146 Elm and 21 Henshaw as follows:
1. 146 Elm: Lump Sum of $5,000.
2. 21 Henshaw: Lump Sum of $5,000.
ADD3.2: SECTION 012900 PAYMENT PROCEDURES: Add the following sub-
paragraph to 1.5.F:
3. Include retainage of 5% for all amounts completed and stored to date
for each billing cycle.
ADD3.3: SECTION 081113 HOLLOW METAL DOORS AND FRAMES; 2.3.A
MANUFACTURERS: Delete in their entirety sub-paragraphs 1 & 2 from list of
acceptable manufacturers. Ceco and Curries do not have products that comply
with specified requirements.
ADD3.4: SECTION 085200 WOOD WINDOWS: Add paragraph 2.6.G as follows:
G. Sash Limiters: Provide sash limiters for all double hung replacement
windows with sills within 24 inches of the floor on windows located above
the first floor unless sash is noted to be fixed.

ADD3.5: SECTION 230000 HVAC, Paragraph 2.25 Automatic Temperature
Controls, Item B add the following:
1. Each building shall have a single Mitsubishi microprocessor
controller for control of all VRF ductless split heat pump systems from a
single location within the building. Controls for the Henshaw D building
shall be microprocessor based DDC control for all existing and new HVAC
equipment except as noted otherwise. DDC controls at Henshaw D shall
be provided for all HVAC equipment, including ERVs, AHU-1, existing hot
water baseboard radiation, heating hot water pumps, etc. Control of
Henshaw D mechanical room ventilation is not required to be via DDC
controls. The existing steam control valves for steam to hot water heat
exchangers shall remain in place. Under the base bid, all temperature
controls are local to each building. Under the temperature controls
Alternate, the Mitsubishi controller and the DDC system shall
communicate using BACNET protocol with the campus temperature
control system, enabling remote monitoring and remote control of all
Mitsubishi and DDC system controlled equipment in Henshaw D.
ADD3.6: SECTION 321216 ASPHALT PAVING: Delete paragraph 1.4.B in its
entirety. No imprinted asphalt required.

ADD3.11 Volume E; Drawing L1.0E: Add the following note to the stone wall
detail: “Provide local schist or what is commonly referred to as ‘Goshen stone’
for drylaid stone wall.
ADD3.12 Volume E; Dwg A1.0E: Add the following note to insulation notes:
“Where knee walls are noted in finish schedule install pourable foam insulation
in rafter bays. Contractors Option: Remove existing plaster, install closed cell
spay foam and install 1/2 inch gypsum board on strapping.”
ADD3.13 Volume E; Dwg A1.1E: Add the window tags “R3” to the two
windows located in Reception 104 that face onto the porch.
ADD3.14 Volume E; Dwg A1.1E; Window Schedule: Add the following
comments: “1. Window C – operable awning window.
2. Window D – fix sash in place.
3. Window R9 – fix sash in place.”
ADD3.15 Volume E: Dwg A1.1E; Finish Schedule: Add the following note:
“Rooms 201, 200C1, 200T1 and 200T2 have 4’-0” knee walls and sloping
wall surface up to an 8’-0” ceiling height.”
ADD3.16 Volume E: Dwg A1.1E; Finish Schedule: Add the following note:
“Paint existing wallcovering and stippled plaster finish on walls in Room
204.”
ADD3.17 Volume H: Dwg A1.0H: Add the following note to the basement
plan: “Interior painting limited to new drywall at stair.”

ADD3.20 Volume B: Dwg P1.0B: Add the following note: “Cutting of
existing concrete slab and excavation for new sanitary piping and venting noted
on this plan shall be by the G.C. Location of existing underslab piping is based
upon original drawings. Significant deviations in location of existing conditions
will be subject to compensation under contract provisions for Changes Orders.”

ADD 3.24 Drawing HD1.1C; ADD NOTES:
1. Existing hot water baseboard radiation shall remain throughout the
building. Controls shall be interlocked to prohibit operation of heat
pump system in cooling mode when the baseboard radiation heating
system is in operation.
2. Remove bath exhaust fans. Bath exhaust ductwork shall remain for
re-use with new exhaust fans.
3. Remove kitchen range exhaust ductwork.
ADD3.25 Drawing H1.2D; ADD NOTE:
“Hot water coil HC-2, mounted in ERV-2 supply ductwork shall provide 5,000
Btu/hour heating, based on 230 cfm, EAT 55 deg F, EWT 170 deg F, 0.5 gpm,
0.1” w.g. maximum APD, 3 ft. max WPD. Provide modulating hot water valve and
supply duct mounted temperature sensor. Provide 3/4” hot water supply and
return piping from existing piping in basement mechanical room to HC-2.
Provide 1-1/4” hot water supply and return piping from existing basement
mechanical room to heating hot water coil in AHU-1.”
ADD 3.26 Drawing H1.1D ADD NOTE:
“The VRF heat pump system served by CU-2/CU-3 is a heat recovery system.
Provide two branch circuit controllers, to serve the indoor units at each end of
the building. Three refrigerant lines are required between CU-2/CU-3 and the
branch circuit controllers. Each individual indoor unit shall be on its own zone
from the branch circuit controller, with two dedicated refrigerant lines for each
indoor unit extending from the branch circuit controller to the indoor unit.”

“DS-1 and DS-2 shown in AHU-1 ductwork are duct silencers. Duct silencer DS-
3 is to be located at the return duct transition/elbow from 26”x12” to 12”x48”.
Refer to the attached duct silencer schedule.”
ADD 3.28: Drawing HD1.1D; ADD NOTES:
1. Remove hot water baseboard radiation shown hatched. Cap piping at
main.

ADD 3.29 Drawing H1.1E; ADD NOTE:
“The existing 1-pipe steam boiler heating system serving the building
shall remain. Remove the two (2) steam radiators on the 3rd floor (not
shown on drawings), along with the riser pipes up to the third floor
radiators. Cap piping at main. At new Vestibule 100V, relocate the existing
1-pipe steam radiator to the wall behind the door.”
ADD 3.30 Drawing H1.0H; ADD NOTES:
1. Heating Hot Water Pump P-1 shall be equal to Taco 00e Series with
integral variable speed drive, Circulator Pump model VR1816-HYI-
4C2A00, 8 gpm, 10 ft. head, 120/1/60. Set to operate in constant
pressure mode.
2. Condensate Pump CP-1 shall be equal to Little Giant low profile type,
model VCC-20ULS, 120/1/60. Discharge to be piped with 1/2” CPVC
or rigid PVC to discharge to sewer via indirect waste.
