Smoke detection will be provided above the fire alarm control panel, in the
basement, and stairs. Combination smoke and carbon monoxide detection will be installed in corridors outside each bedroom. Heat detectors will be provided in each
dwellings kitchen and weatherproof heat detectors will be provided on each exterior

Indicate alarm condition at the Fire Alarm Control Unit
Initiate building evacuation through building alarm system
Transmit alarm signal to central stations as described in Section 2.3.
2.2 Fire Sprinkler Control Valve Fire sprinkler system control valve equipped with tamper switche to indicate either
partial or complete closure will be monitored by the fire alarm system with a monitor
module. Upon fire sprinkler system control valve partial or complete closure, the following functions shall be performed.
Indicate supervisory condition at the Fire Alarm Control Unit
Transmit supervisory signal to central stations as described in Section
2.3.
2.3 Fire Alarm System
In the event of a fire initiation, be it manual or automatic, occupants will be notified
by means of horns sounding temporal three pattern and visual notification throughout the common spaces. Low frequency sounder bases will activate in bedrooms. An exterior visible notification appliance will continuously flash at the fire department
response point and an alarm signal will be sent to central monitoring station. In the
event that carbon monoxide is detected, temporal 4 pattern audible notification will
be generated throughout and a supervisory notification will be indicated on the panel and will be sent to the central monitoring station. In the event that the tamper switch is activated on a sprinkler control valve, a supervisory signal will activate on the fire
alarm control panel and a supervisory signal will be sent to the central monitoring
station.
