If you want to expand it, it can't be any closer to the pavement than 10', and the steps can't be closer than 5'. Short version;you need to keep a 10'front setback for the porch and a 5'setback for the stairs(measured from the pavement) Louis Hasbrouck Building Commissioner City of Northampton Town of Williamsburg (413)587-1240 office (413)587-1272 fax t City Of Louis Hasbrouck<Iasbrouck@northamptonma.gov> NmOKuywtm n:l Re: 1 Prospect Ct 1 message Louis Hasbrouck<Iasbrouck@northamptonma.gov> Fri,Oct 19,2018 at 11:05 AM To:Tamara Galvin <tamaragalvin@gmail.com> I'll add this to the application. All set with zoning; now just the building permit part. I apologize for the incomplete information. I tried to think of all the measurements but clearly I missed some and drawing is absolutely not a strength of mine. Currently, the stairs are 8 feet from the street(pavement)and the porch is 11.5 feet from the street. The distance from the porch to the street will not change. I will make sure we design the stairs so there is,at the very least, 5 feet from the street. As for the side of the house, can we bump the porch 2 or 3 more feet from what I put on the diagram(for a total of 5 feet)? There will still be well over the 10 feet from the neighbor's house(assuming pavement doesn't count). Does that make sense? Do I need to fill out another permit form? Thank you for your time!
