This demonstrates the company's ongoing commitment to be a market leader and provide its customers with the most up-to-date technology. The functionality is achieved with the simple field installation of rapid shutdown cables available from SolarEdge, without the need for additional control systems at the array. The rapid shutdown cables are shipped in kits, each kit with 5 sets of rapid shutdown cables for the update of 5 SolarEdge inverters. The kit is available from July 1"2014 with a list price of$125($25 per inverter), under the following part numbers: - Kit for single phase inverters:SE1000-RSD-51 - Kit for SE9KUS three phase inverter: SE1000-RSD-S2 - Kit for SE1OKUS and SE2OKUS three phase inverters: 5E1000-RSD.-53 Rapid Shutdown Functionality To paraphrase the rapid shutdown requirement,Section 690.12 of the 2014 NEC applies to PV systems installed on building roofs and requires that a rapid shutdown function exists to de-energize PV source circuits from all sources to less than 30Vdc within 10 seconds. Since SolarEdge systems include power electronics on the roof(typically one power optimizer per module) and are therefore able to shut off power coming from the roof, these systems are able to de-energize PV source circuits to less than 30 Vdc in less than 10 seconds. No additional roof mounted devices are required. The rapid shutdown initiation is performed by turning the inverter's Safety Switch to the off position. This feature, along with the installation of a rapid shutdown kit in the inverter Safety Switch, expands the safety mechanisms to include the rapid shutdown functionality. The rapid shutdown kit includes a set of cables that should be connected within the Safety Switch, according to the instructions supplied with the kit and available here. The installation process and the wiring of the Safety Switch remain unchanged. All previously provided AC/DC switches and the new DC-only switches support the rapid shutdown kit. Inverters supplied with DC Safety Switches will be shipping from July 1`t 2014. Included with this letter are the report and calculations. We did the calculations in accordance with the 2012 IBC,ASCE 7-10, 2012 NDS, and guidelines stated in the Solar America Board for Codes and Standards. Engineer Some of the components in the SnapNrack test data were used to determine the capacity and section properties of materials. We collected the test data using the 5022 Sunrise Blvd. procedures outlined in the 2012 IBC Chapter 17. Farr Oaks,CA 95628 (916)536-9585 (916)536-0260(fax) We included the following types of load combinations and building parameters into our calculations: 1989-2013 24 yea's of excellence • ASCE 7-10 wind speeds from 110 mph to 190 for B and C exposure categories • ASCE 7-10 Seismic Design Category E • ASCE 7-10 Snow Loads up to 120 psf ground snow • Buildings with mean roof heights up to 60 foot tilt angles / roof pitches Norman Scheel,SR. from 0 degrees to 60 degrees. Series 100 UL is listed to the UL 2703 for grounding/bonding and fire classification. The System's components provide an adequate bonding path which has eliminated the need for grounding lugs and wash- ers at each module, and bonding jumpers between splices. In addition to grounding and bonding, the roof mount system, Series 100 UL, is Class A Fire Rated when in- stalled with Type I and Type II Modules. SnapNrack's UL 2703 Certification and Com- pliance ensures that SnapNrack installers can continue to provide the best in class installations in quality, safety and efficiency. • Appealing design with built-in aesthetics • No grounding lugs required for modules • All bonding hardware is fully integrated into the components • Rail splices bond rails together, no rail jump- ers required .atie .426 • Proprietary SnapNrack grounding lug snaps in the rail channel • No drilling of rail or reaching for other tools required • Class A Fire Rating for Type 1 and 2 modules System Features Include Snap in Single Tool Easy No Cutting Hardware Installation Leveling or Drilling Integrated Wire Preassembled Integrated bonding UL 2703 Certified Management hardware Resources snapnrack.com/resources Design configure.snapnrack.com Where to Buy snapnrack.com/buy Snap rack- Solar Mounting Solutions Bdtwnn stainless Steel Sna°Nrea Bonding SnapNrack Standard Fail Sylal ock warner Loc Washert- - <. splice Insert tack its Ser it Scats-NJ-act Bonding SnapNrack Adjustable End ondin• ga 101011010 Splice Clamp Top Mid Bonding Bale Sa SnapNrack SnapNrack Boning Snap goading nless 44 Cllmp Bot End el Nut Clamp Bottom BConpinlNut - Stainless Hardware with Bolt with SnapNrack Bonding Split-Lockk ashers Spnl sLhe Adjustable End Clamp J „ SnapNrack Bonding SnapNrack Bonding SnapNrack Mid Clamp Standard Rail Splice Ground Lug taw b Awe Copper Wire •_ SnapNrack Ground LugAssembly (ONE REOUIREDPER ROW OF MODULES) SnapNrack Bonding Universal End amp<UEC)Wave UEC Pull Strap UEC Wedge Bolt wit Flat `— SnapNrack Bonding Universal End Clamp n[ringAill k Standoff Clamp Assembly SnapNrack Serrated Stainless r StaBoninless Snnd Bonding g ChannelNut pSteel Flange Nutira Pam Collar Channel aoes,a¢c¢kStainless eSS aa Nut t anless SnapNrack Seless rrated Flange nSno 11‘ L Foot Flange AnlaNrpo sWene Standoff SnaNrack Mill Finish / L Foo[ tandoff Sna aase(SShewn) Flea adick 4Mole SnapN2cF re Metal Roo! ase SnpwN Mol Finish L Migc ease Assembly Foot Base SnapNrack Bonding .! — SnapNrack Bonding _• Roof o `— SnapNrack Metal Standoff AssemblyRoof Base with L Foot Base with Flashing Bonding L Foot SERIES 100 TECHNICAL DATA • 6000 Series aluminum Materials • Stainless steel • Galvanized steel and aluminum flashing • Clear and black anodized aluminum Material Finish • Mill finish on select components • Listed to UL Standard 2703 for Grounding/Bonding and Fire Classification Gales.&Certifications • Class A Fire Rating Type land Type 2 modules • Stamped Structural Engineering Reports for all 50 States • SnapNrack Grounding Lug (One lug per individual row of modules) Grounding • Integrated bonding components Warranty 10 year limited product warranty; 5 year limited finish warranty 877-732-2860 www.snapnrack.com contact@snapnrack.com ta.2013 Os.Snotsrack Solar Moat u ScIUt 0 ns.
