You are proposing to erect PV panels on the south side of the house roof.The house is a two story colonial style residence measuring approximately 26'x34'with an"L"that measures approximately 5'x23'-4".The residence was designed with intersecting gable roofs.The roof was designed with a 6/12 pitch.The roof trusses were designed with 2x6 top chord and 2x4 webs and bottom chord.The trusses were designed for 24"O.C.spacing.We assume that the residence has a plywood deck and asphalt shingles. Recommendations: While the truss design information that you provided suggests that the roof is sufficiently robust to support the additional Dead Load from the proposed PV system, any conclusion to that point is predicated on the assumption that the roof and supporting structure were constructed as designed. Prior to installing the PV array, proper construction and truss installation, should be field verified. Field verification should include confirmation that the trusses are installed in accordance with manufacturer's design, including any and all required truss bracing.Since truss bracing is an important but often overlooked detail,field verification of required bracing installation is essential.
