Dear Mr. Novak:
To follow up on my letter to you of December 23, Joseph
Vanhoenacker, Executive Director of Franklin/Hampshire Community
Mental Health Center, Inc. , several of his staff, and I met with Ed
Jendry of Architects In ,,„to discuss the classification of the
beds at the site on , /Me+e'n Monday, January 3. We
agreed at that meeting to meet with the Building Commissioner for
the City of Northampton to discuss the situation.
We met with Mr. Sienkiewicz on January 10th. We described the
problem to him and showed him a layout of the first floor of 50
Pleasant Street. He asked us to provide him with a written
description of the use, staffing and safety features of the
program. We are in the process of doing that. Edward Jendry is
also preparing a memorandum for Mr. Sienkiewicz about the building
code. Upon receipt of these memoranda, Mr. Sienkiewicz plans to
make a site visit and will let us know the next step.
I will keep you informed of any further developments.
