Dear Sirs :
H. L. Childs is considering, with City consent, to locate
on our 34 Bridge Street parking lot, a fifty to sixty foot vintage
railway coach for the purpose of selling retail merchandise. The
unit would be located on the east side of the lot next to the His-
torical Society. We believe we have enough spaces to eliminate six
spaces which would be recreated by relining the parking area. Also,
the six spaces are extra as per the square foot allowances according
to city regulations .
We intend to paint and letter the car as per its period (1930' s )
and maintain the historical aspects such a coach possessed at the
time. We feel this would enhance the downtown area, bringing in new
customers for area merchants , at no loss of critical city or private
parking.
