LLC 68 Union Street Westfield. MA 01085 RE: Airport Solar Dear Mike. pihave evaluated the effect on the existing trusses, of going from a uniform loading pattern to that of IIlli nnecting points represent a concentrated load on each truss. Considering removal of the asphalt shingles and replacing the existing roofing with the new batten and metal roofing plus the solar panels, the new additional superimposed dead weight is approximately 6#/s.f. Using the ground snow load of 40 psf, and flat roof snow load equal to the same. Therefore, the new panel load would be 46#/sf. Area per connection point (at each truss) is 7 s.f and concentrated load is approximately 322# or less. The shear parallel to grain using 3224 with a 2 X 4 top chord will be 61 pounds per square inch which is less than allowable for construction grade D.F. or equal lumber. In addition, with four concentrated loads per half truss, the equivalent uniform load would be approximately 44#/s.f or virtually the same load the trusses should be experiencing now. In conclusion, the proposed work should not exceed the capacity of the existing trusses. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call me at 860-276-9100. Very truly yours. .-//'qq.. It ensures these provided table have not been tested for compatibility devices will maintain strong electrical and mechanical connections over an extended period of time in extreme outdoor The Grounding Mid Clamp has proven robust in grounding solar environments. modules with a box frame construction, a range of anodization thicknesses and nominal lengths of 78.5"or less. The testing process closely mirrors that All solar modules listed to UL 1703 and with frame construction of UL 1703, the solar module testing within the parameters stated above are compatible with the standard, including temperature and IronRidge Integrated Grounding System. humidity cycling, electrical and mechanical load testing, and manufacturing quality O Go to ironridge.com/ig reviews. L rJ iM /, IRON RIDGE XR Rail Family Solar is Not Always Sunny Over their lifetime, solar panels experience countless {// extreme weather events. Not just the worst storms in years, ., " i but the worst storms in 40 years. High winds capable of { I _ ripping panels from a roof, and snowfalls weighing ' — t t enough to buckle a panel frame. t 7 XR Rails are the structural backbone preventing .` 111 # these results. They resist uplift, protect 1 against buckling and safely and efficiently transfer loads into the building structure. Their superior spanning capability \ requires fewer roof attachments, .` reducing the number of roof penetrations and the amount --- of installation time. `, nom% a i eJx ;mow Force-Stabilizing Curve p ' Sloped roofs generate both vertical and lateral forces on mounting rails which can cause them to bend and twist The curved shape of XR Rails r, is specially designed to increase strength in both , directions while resisting the twisting. This unique feature ensures greater security during extreme weather as a longer system lifetime. Compatible with Flat&Pitched Roofs Corrosion-Resistant Materials XR Rails are IronRidge offers All XR Rails are made of marine-grade or compatible with ha* a range of tilt leg GI aluminum alloy, then protected wfth an FlashFoot and I options for flat anodized finish.Anodizing prevents surface other pitched roof I f 1 1 roof mounting and structural corrosion, while also providing Well attachmentsapplicationsa more attractive appearance.
