Northampton. MA Dear Sir: Thank you for meeting with us this morning regarding the renovations that we are planning for the owners of subject building. The following is an outline of the planned changes . 1 . Replacing the boiler and air conditioning units . 2. Removing the fuel oil storage tank. 3. Installing a roof hatch and fixed ladder to the roof from the second floor. 4. Installing fire-rated gypsum board on ceiling of Boiler Room and installing new fire-rated door and frame to Boiler Room, as required by Building Code. 5. Installing a new sealed sump pump and floor drain in Boiler Room, as required by Building Code. 6. Removing trash chute to Boiler Room. 7 . Installing new domestic water heater . You did confirm that the following issues which our client is concerned about are not a requirement under the State Building Code ; installation of passager elevator, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm system.
