Roldan 40 Park Hill Road Northampton, MA 01060 Dear Mr. Roldan: On April 10, 1995, Water Department personnel went to 40 Park Hill Road to repair the outside reading device which had failed to send out meter readings for the last 2 billing cycles. Previous records indicate a history of estimated readings for similar reasons. An inspection by Water Department servicemen revealed that the wire seal on the meter had been broken and the meter was in a backwards position. No person, except the proper officers of the Water Department, is allowed to set, take off or repair a water meter. The removal or tampering with a meter is illegal. I have contacted the City's Law Department to determine what steps, up to and including disconnecting your water service, may be taken should any further tampering occur. We will also be pursuing any legal remedy available for the recovery of charges for water used by you but not included in your bills.
