Dear %Ir. Brindisi
Pearl Street Nightclub is celebrating its tenth anniversary in June. One of events planned for the
celebration is a Children's .11irtrcle,1'entwrk Benefit scheduled for Saturday, June 1 Sth from
loam-ppm. The event N\ould have a carnival-life atmosphere and be held both inside and outside
the club.
Outside activities includes: booths fol- photographs that children can take with cartoon characters
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bandy Bear, and Lucky Duck; stands for balloon, button, and T-
shirt purchases; a small Duck float, and three child carnival rides. WH'\1P 99.3F'\1 radio will be
on sight broadcasting the benefit live. In addition, the Northampton Police Department's D.A.R.E.
unit, and the Fire Department Nwill be on hand to speak with children.
The event is open to the public for a small charge, however, money raised .vill be donated to The
Children's Miracle Network- a country Nide medical service network providing pediatric care.
Hot dogs and soda will be provided free of charge throughout the day, and children will receive a
toy to take home.
Attached is a diagram of how the street would be blocked off for the benefit. A small section of
the street directly in front of Pearl Street Nightclub would be utilized for the block. Neither
neighboring buisnesses nor the Pearl Street Parking lot would be affected.

- An-,, rea'11red Dermlts or authorizations must be obtained from the Office c-
the Building Inspector.
- Any required permits or authorizations must be Obtained from the Office of
the Board of Health.
- Authorization must be obtained from the Office of the City Solicitor for

being conducted on a City street.
- Adequate and unrestricted passage for pedestrians shall be maintained for
the duration of the event.
- The entire width of the roadways at the Pearl Street Lounge's property
line on Strong Avenue and Pearl Street shall be completely blocked off
with a adea_uate number of road horses. A' sign, at least 3' X 3' in size,
with "Road Closed" is to be affixed to the center road horse at each of
these locations. The lettering on the signs is to be at least 4" in
height and in the block style.
- Additionally, a monitor shall be placed and kept at both of the
aforesaid barricade locations for the duration of the event. Said
monitor shall insure that the barricades remain in place and are moved in
the evert that emergency police, fire or ambulance access is required.
- A single road horse is to be placed in the center of the roadway at the
following three (3) locations:
1. Strong Avenue at its intersection with Main Street.
2. Strong Avenue just south of the entrance to the Strong Avenue
Municipal Parking Lot.
3 . Pearl Street at its intersection with Pleasant Street.
A sign, at least 3' X 3' in size, with "No Thru Traffic" is to be affixed
to each of the above road horses. The lettering on the signs is to be at
least 4" in height and in the block style.
