PART 9 FINISHES
9.01 Exterior siding and trim
Apply one prime and one finish coat of paint to match existing house.
9.02 Windows and Door
Exteriors to have one prime alkyd paint and 2 finish coats latex paint to match
existing doors and windows.
Interiors to have one prime and 2 finish coats latex paint.
9.03 Drywall
Walls will be 318 or 1/2" standard gypsum wallboard taped with three coats and
finished smooth ready for painting. Ceilings will be finish taped. Taping at
stairwell to upstairs to be touched up.
9.04 Floors
1 x3 red oak laid in a box stall border w/ a color band In cherry.
Sand and finish with three coats clear ( one gloss , two satin) urethane base floor
varnish.
9.05 Gypsum Wallboard
Interior walls and ceilings receive one coat prime and one finish coat eggshell
latex paint . Color to be determined by owner.

PART 15 MECHANICAL
15.01 Heating
Provide and install Heatmaker boiler vv/ sufficient capacity to meet the space
heating needs of the project. Provide and install baseboard radiation. See
contract for zone options.
15.02 Electrical
Furnish sufficiently to satisfy local codes and inspections. Provide 4 gang
outlet in built-in stereo cabinet. Provide speaker wire under floor from
stereo unit to display units. Light as indicated on drawings in stereo unit.
PART 16 MISC.
PART 7 THERMAL AND MOISTURE PROTECTION
7.02 Flashing
Site manufactured flashing with drip edge to be installed at top of window unit.
7.03 Exterior siding
Match siding of existing house . All siding and trim will be painted to match
existing house.
7.04 Insulation
a. Replace or provide insulation to minimun standards in exterior walls.
7.05 Vapor Barrier
6 mil polyethylene, all edges sealed . Install on warm side of all fiberglass
insulation.
7.06 Air Infiltration
All air spaces around new openings to be insulated.
7.12 Exterior Sealants
Seal around all window and ext.door frames .

6.01 Rough Framing
a. Wall studs and blocking: 2x6 S-P-F stud grade, kiln-dried , 19% moisture
content. Interior partions 2x3 or 2x4 KID as necessary.
b. Plywood:
Walls: 1/2" Plywood sheathing
Use APA C-D sheathing.
6.02 Finish Carpentry
a. Exterior trim to match existing.
b. Interior window and door casings
To be 1" nominal thickness poplar . All casings will be
painted. Use of window sills to be deterimined by owner.
C. Floors
1 x3 select white oak strip flooring installed with minimum 1/4" clearance at
edges, box stall border with color banding in cherry and prepared for
finish baseboard installation atop floor.
d. Baseboards
To be 1 x6 flat poplar . All baseboard painted.
e. Built-in stereo unit
Frame will be built with standard 3/4" plywood. Frame is faced with 1"
nominal thickness solid cherry boards. Baseboard to be painted.
f. Provide and install display units as drawn. Species to be determined
by owner. See contract for options.

PART 1 - GENERAL ITEMS
1.1 Summary
Remove paneling from dining rm,Aiving rm. and replace with drywall.
Provide & install new window combination in east wall. Lay, sand &
seal new box stall floor. Provide & install new boiler wJ baseboard
radiation. Rework mechanical closet to accomodate new boiler
and extend for built in stereo cabinet. Provide and install two custom
display units.

Begin construction in August of 1992
