OPINION OF THE PLANNING BOARD IN THE MATTER OF
Request of Lee Christenson for a variance to erect a building
for retail use -
The Planning Board, at its meeting of March 1, voted unani-
mously to express to the Board of Appeals its opinion that the
subject application should be approved. The Board noted, %
however, that there is a question regarding the status of Depot
Street, which question should probably be investigated prior to
taking final action on this matter. The principal physical con-
cernsof the Planning Board are:
(1) Public use of Depot Street is essential as a part of
the traffic circulation in downtown Florence, particu-
larly in light of the fact that several properties
utilize the street for access.
( 2) No building construction should take place which would
intrude upon the street layout of Depot Street, and
parking should be arranged so that entrance to and exit
from parking spaces will not int ere ' th t affic
circulation on Depot Street.
