Dear Mr. Koplow and Mr. Helems:
As you know from your discussions with Attorney Joe Cook, Steve Lewis Subaru,
Inc. has applied for a Class I Auto Dealer license at 48 Damon Road. As part of his licensed
premise, he is requesting that the front portion of your 32 Damon Road lot be counted as a
parking and display area.
You have assured Attorney Cook that you are in agreement that the front portion of
the lot is to be devoted to Mr. Lewis' parking/display use. However, the License
Commission, when granting your Class II Auto Dealer License, stipulated that you comply
with the Building Commissioner as to limitations in the parking/display areas of your
property. The Commission, as well as the Building Commissioner, were under the
impression that the entire 32 Damon Road site was dedicated to your use.
Now that the Building Commissioner and License Commission have a better
understanding of the split in use between the two businesses, the Commission wishes to
clarify with you the actual number of cars allowed on your portion of 32 Damon Road. After
discussion with the Building Commissioner, you are allowed the following number of cars on
your property:
A. General Parking- 53: This includes the 24 general and auto body
parking spaces located along the rear lot lines,
and the 11 auto body and 18 employee spaces
along the left side of the lot.
B. Customer Parking- 19: This includes the 13 customer spaces directly in
front of your building and the 6 on the left side

MEMORANDUM
TO: Anthony Patillo, Building Commissioner
FROM: Sue Stone, License Commission Clerlp_
REGARDS: Steve Lewis Subaru - 32/48 Damon Road
DATE: June 21, 1999
As you know, there were several issues to be resolved
concerning the Steve Lewis Subaru, Inc . Application for a Class I
Auto Dealer' s License . At the License Commission' s June meeting,
it voted to approve the license contingent upon four conditions,
three of which concern you.
1 . The Commission wants a determination of the number of
parking and display spaces to be dedicated to Steve Lewis Subaru
on the two lots at 32/48 Damon Road.
2 . The Commission wants a redetermination of the specific
number of parking/display spaces for the Squash Automotive Class
II license issued last year given the fact that the front of their
lot is now to be part of Steve Lewis' licensed premise . I think
we were all under the impression that this space originally
belonged to Squash (aka Cahillane Auto Body) . Squash has
acknowledged this space is not theirs .
3 . The Commission wants a specific number of cars allowed
to be stored at the Drozdal property at 120 Damon Road.
All these parking/display restrictions will be placed on the
actual license so that you, the Commission and any future zoning
enforcement officer will have a clear picture of what was granted.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. If you
have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact
me.
