Dear Mr. Shukis:
Inasmuch as the sign mentioned in your letter of September 11,
1979, for which you requested a location permit, would be located at
#30 North Maple Street off the back edge of the sidewalk, which is the
legal boundary limit of the street, you will not need a permit frcm. the
Board of Public Works.
I believe, however, that you would need a sign permit frcm
Mr. Cecil I. Clark, Building Inspector. Therefore, I am forwarding your
letter and sketch sheet to him, and you should contact him directly. His
office is located in the Municipal Building at the rear of City Hall,
and his office phone is 584-3503.

Gentlemen:
As a new business in the area, I am concerned with advertising and
visibility to the public. Since my shop does not have an actual
store front, I am required to use signs as an indication of my
location. The sign which I have placed on the front of the
building in which I am is fairly good, but it may be confusing to
some of my potential customers.
In light of this possible confusion, I am requesting that I be
permitted to place a sandwich sign advertising my location
adjacent to the sidewalk on North Maple street between the two
driveways to the building parking lot. The actual sign will be
36 inches by 36 inches and total height for the sign would be
60 inches. The sign would b placed in the area indicated during
business hours Tuesday thru Saturday 10:00 AM until 5:302M, and
Friday night until 8:00 PM.
The sign would in no way interfere with foot traffic or vehicular
traffic in the area. I have enclosed several drawings to indicate
the location of the sign and the approximate wording to be printed
on the sign.
