Dear Murlee and Victor,
This is to confirm our conversation today at the building department about the current issues. As you
know on May 6th, 2015 1 viewed and photographed your goats and corral. You are in violation of City of
Northampton "Zoning Ordinance" section 350-5.3, paragraphs 2, 3, and 4.
First you are hereby ordered to correct the fencing and stable setbacks to 20 and 30 feet respectfully.
Second you hereby ordered to correct the number of adult goats you keep. You are allowed a number
of goats based on your property size as follows; one adult goat for the first 30,000 square feet and one
additional adult goat for each 10,000 square feet. Your property according to the deed consist of 1.5
acres +- or 65,340 square feet which will allow you to keep four adult goats, adult goats are goats of
more than six months age. Farm animals cannot be allowed to roam free.
You have 30 days ending June 11, 2015 to correct violation of the City of Northampton zoning
ordinance, section 350-5.3, paragraphs 2, 3, and 4 as stated above. I will visit the site on June 12, 2015
to assure the correction have been completed in conformance with the zoning requirements. If the
violations have not been corrected, I will issue a citation in accordance with section 4.9.
Penalties for violations will be affixed in an amount not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00) for
each offense. Each day or portion of a day, that any violation is allowed to continue shall constitute a
separate offense.
