Box 60627 Florence, MA, 1062 Attn: Nelson Shifflet 02/05/07 B- Dear Nelson, While reviewing our files, I noticed that building permit number BP-2006-0601, issued to you on 12/712005, for work at 40 Columbus Avenue in Northampton is still open. We have not yet completed our final inspections and we have not issued a final certificate of occupancy for that project. It seems that the final electrical, plumbing and building inspections were never done. The Massachusetts State Building Code (780 CMR, chapter 1, sections 115 and 120) requires a final inspection and a certificate of occupancy at the completion of work, before the building or structure can be used or occupied. Please contact me at the building department so we can complete our inspections and issue a certificate. Feel free to call if you have any questions. Our telephone number is 587-1240 and our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, excepting that we close at 12:00 noon on Wednesdays. My email address is: I has brouck(aD-city.northampton.ma.us. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
