Re: Sproull-Milburg Residence

Dear Sirs:
This correspondence is to make you aware of my concerns at the above
referenced Sproul[ and Milburg residence. On March 13, 2009, 1 did a rough
plumbing inspection with your field person, John, who informed me that the
sanitary system was installed to accommodate a possible future gray water
system.
I spoke with Dennis Driscoll, Western Mass. State Plumbing Investigator, on
Monday, March 16th, at 8:30 a.m. We both agree that the install is acceptable
and meets the current Plumbing Code requirement. At approximately 9:00 a.m.,
on the same day, Brant stopped in to review the situation with me at which time I
conveyed to him my approval of the sanitary rough.
I would like you, and the homeowners, to understand that any future work on this
system will require the filing of a new Plumbing Permit Application as well as
application to the State Plumbing Board for their review and approval.
Additionally, the exterior concrete water tank is considered a dedicated system
as per Mass. State Plumbing Code, Section 10.03, Paragraph E, Page 87. At
this time there seems to be no clear direction for this part of the work. The
Plumbing Board has shown some interest in this work and will require a plan for
their review and approval.
