Dear Peter,
In response to recent questions and concerns regarding the proper method
of installation and tightening connection bolts, I am sending you a copy
of a paragraph which appears in the American Institute of Steel Construc-
tion Manual. This paragraph explains the method we will use to properly
install and tighten the connection bolts on the project.
Though there are several different methods, the one most commonly speci-
fied in the pre-engineered steel building industry is the "Turn of the Nut"
method. Stran Building Company has specifically requested that this
method be utilized on their structures. Because this is the method most
often used, and Grenier Construction Co. has been erecting metal buildings
for over twenty-five years, I assure you that our personnel are very fami-
liar with this and all proper erecting procedures.
If you, or any of the parties concerned with this project, have further
questions, I will gladly answer them.
