Brindis, P.E. 413-582-1570 1995 Director. City Engineer 4 Peter J. McNulty, Sr. DEPT OF BUILDING iNSPE'l V NS Assistant Director of Public Works NORTHAMPTON MA 0 iG6 MEMO TO: Frank Sienkiewicz, Building Inspector 15( FROM: Sam Brindis, Director, DPW SUBJECT: Coca Cola Permitting DATE: May 11, 1995 In response to your inquiry into the status of permits required by Coca Cola from the Department of Public Works (DPW) , the following steps have taken place for compliance. 1. All requirements for cross-connection backf low prevention devices have been met in accordance with DEP regulations. 2 . A sanitary sewer connection permit has been approved by the DPW and forwarded to DEP. 3 . An agreement, developed by the City, has been forwarded to Coca Cola for review. Upon satisfactory mutual consent, a local sanitary discharge permit will be approved. The limits for water consumption and sanitary discharge are described in both documents and have been verbally agreed upon. During a review of recent drawings, it has come to our attention that there are three sanitary lines within the plant that do not flow into the equalization tank. As a result, the discharge from these lines are not measured and therefore not billable. The DPW will be discussing this particular issue with Coca Cola for resolution.
