AT #28 SHERMAN AVENUE Scope of Work The work under this item includes the following: 1. Removal and satisfactory disposal of existing concrete floor (see drawing No. 3) . 2 . Removal and satisfactory disposal of additional gravel to allow for a new 4" thick concrete floor slab (see drawing No. 5) . 3 . Repair of existing rear frost wall as detailed in drawing No. 4 . 4 . Repair two 21rx 4" rafters which have cracked. The first rafter is part of the most southerly roof truss and the repair shall consist of attaching a 3/4" (minimum 5 ply) plywood gusset plate onto the rafter and horizontal chord of the truss with 8 d nails spaced a maximum 4-inches apart. The horizontal length of the gusset plate shall be a minimum 2-feet long. The second rafter is part of one of the middle roof trusses and the repair shall consist of removing the temporary 2 11x 4" brace and attaching two 3/4" (minimum 5 ply) plywood plates (having dimensions 32 11x V ) on either side of the damaged rafter with 8 d nails spaced a maximum 4-inches apart. 5. A 2 11x 8 11x 9' board spanning the garage door opening is cracked and must be replaced. THIS BOARD APPEARS TO BE USED TO TRIM OUT THE OPENING AND IS NOT A STRUCTURAL HEADER. All new lumber which is installed and exposed to the weather shall be primed with an oil based primer and subsequently painted with an oil based paint, to be approved by the Engineer to match the existing garage color. 6. The Contractor shall also insure that the garage door operates properly through its full range of opening and closing upon the completion of the above mentioned work.
